I am an HR Executive working for a corporate. We have an opening for BE/BTech freshers. As the campus recruitment season is on, I need to conduct interviews in colleges. Kindly let me know what are the main points to be explained about a company to the students and also what is the interview process to be conducted.

Introduction to Campus Recruitment

Start with a smiley face. If the colleges have projectors, explain your company details, including the business and the scope of your company!

Interview Process

1. Conduct the aptitude test initially.
2. Technical round of interview.
3. HR round of interview.

If you want more information, please attend a campus drive where people are conducting interviews!

I have been a part of campus recruitment from both perspectives - as a college student seeking a job and during my internship offering positions to BE/BTech students. I will address your query based on my personal experience.

Main Points to Explain About a Company to Students

Usually, the campus recruitment drive begins with a brief introduction to the company and a pre-placement talk. Considering that most students have access to information online, it is crucial to be selective about the content included in your presentation. Based on my experience, I recommend the following in your PowerPoint presentation:

- A brief introduction about the company, including its mission, vision, milestones, etc.
- Organizational chart: This provides an overview of the hierarchy within the company and offers insight into potential career growth opportunities. Ensure to cover key personnel such as the CEO, Chairman, and Managing Director by introducing them or including their names.
- Information about the services or products offered.

Next, focus on the specific position for which you are hiring and provide details about the job role. Highlight potential career growth opportunities, especially if there are plans for employees to sign service agreements for a couple of years. Discuss remuneration and future growth prospects.

Following your presentation, allow students to ask questions and provide detailed answers. Then, proceed to the selection process.

Interview Processes to be Conducted

Assess the number of students you need to evaluate and tailor your selection process accordingly. Typically, the process involves the following stages as filtering rounds:

- Aptitude Test
- Simulation Test (conducted if a significant number of students pass the aptitude test)
- Group Discussion (may vary based on factors such as the number of profiles to assess, time constraints, job requirements, etc.)
- Personal Interview 1 - Technical (conducted by department heads to assess the applicant's knowledge base)
- Personal Interview 2 - HR (focuses on evaluating the employee's fit, especially in terms of cultural alignment)

I hope this information is helpful.

Best regards,
Regards

First, you have to give a brief seminar to the students about your company, branches, and business (using PPT). Then, you can proceed to the Aptitude test, followed by a Group Discussion (optional), and then a Face-to-Face (F2F) interview with HR, and finally, move on to the Technical round.

Main Points About the Company:

- Founder and startup
- Values
- Standard in the industry
- Turnover (financial)
- Branches
- Business

Please ensure to cover these aspects during your presentation.

Thank you.

When we conduct campus interviews, there are a few points that need to be frankly communicated to the candidates:

Company Introduction

- Introduce the company and its domain, revenue, strength, number of locations, infrastructure, etc.

Interview Process

- Levels of rounds should include:
a) Aptitude (which should include reasoning)
b) Technical round
c) HR negotiations round

Salary Transparency

- Be transparent about the salary package offered for the position.

Thank you.
