Nice to hear about that. In metro cities, we need not worry about ESIC, PF, etc., since we receive them as part of a welcome kit when we join an organization. However, there are many places in our country where these kinds of welfare benefits are not provided to employees. Kudos to the government of Tamil Nadu for ensuring the welfare and benefits of their people. I hope these practices are soon incorporated in areas where they are not yet implemented.

Threshold Limit Reduction for ESI Coverage in Tamil Nadu
Please note that the State Government of Tamil Nadu has reduced the threshold limit of persons for the coverage of specified establishments from 20 to 10. This limit is irrespective of the wages of such persons. This means that with this notification, Employee State Insurance (ESI) will be applicable to any establishment in Tamil Nadu where 10 or more persons are employed, regardless of the salary limit.
