Can you please let me know how to generate a challan online for PF interest and damages for the late deposition of PF contributions? I would be very thankful to you for the same.

Please prepare the monthly challan as usual. On the login page, you will find the heading "challan." From there, select the challan entry and then choose the "Misc Challan" tab. Enter the damages in the penal damages row and the interest amount in the miscellaneous payment row. Select "please specify nature" and choose interest u/s 7Q from the dropdown.
Once done, submit the form. You will receive a challan with a TRRN number. Make the payment for the same. Remember, there should be a separate challan for regular payment and a separate one for interest and damages. I hope this clears up any doubts.

Instructions for Preparing PF Contribution Data for Online Export
Please find enclosed herewith a file format for data preparation for the online export of PF contribution details of all your eligible employees. The data format should be in the specified format in Excel.
1. Enter the required data.
2. Save the file in "*.csv" format.
3. Open the "*.csv" file in Notepad.
4. Replace all "," with "#~#".
5. Save the file in "*.txt" format.
6. Log in to EPFO-eSeva services.
7. Upload the text file. If your data is correct, the challan will automatically appear, and you only need to enter the admin charges manually.
8. If your data is not in the required format, you will receive an error message. Only after rectifying the error can you upload the monthly contribution file and generate the challan.
The file format and error code are enclosed herewith for your reference.

Dear Mr. Ganpathy, can you please confirm one thing as well - do I need to select the month too? Would it be the month for which I deposited the contribution late and am paying damages and interest for the same?
