I want to know about the procedure for ESIC benefits that are given to an employee when she is leaving the company. She has paid ESIC from May 2012 to December 2012, and her salary is Rs. 12,000. Please let me know what kind of treatment is required now.

There are two contribution periods, each of six months' duration, and two corresponding benefit periods, also of six months' duration, as follows:

Contribution Periods and Corresponding Benefit Periods

Contribution period:
1st April to 30th September
Corresponding Benefit period:
1st January to 30th June of the following year

Contribution period:
1st October to 31st March
Corresponding Benefit period:
1st July to 31st December of the year following.

Thank you for the information. One more query: Is this benefit provided to employees only in the form of medical treatment, with no return given if they do not utilize any medical services? Please confirm if my understanding is correct.

Also, is it possible to avail the benefit for medical treatments, such as fever vaccinations, that need to be done in another country?
