Query Regarding ESIC Scheme/Deduction

I am on third-party payroll of a government company with a gross salary of less than Rs. 10,000 per month. For the past year, the outsourcing recruitment agency has been deducting ESIC from my salary. However, to date, I have not received any document as proof of my ESIC deduction. (Note: The employer does not provide me with any salary slip either.)

Is there any registration process with ESIC that I need to undertake?

I am in need of your valuable suggestions/inputs.

Thanks in advance.

You may talk to your HR person to get your ESI number. If he does not provide the same, put the grievance to the HR of the company where you are engaged. The latter may say that you are not directly employed and hence they don't have any obligation to deal with it. However, being the Principal employer, it is the responsibility of the company where you are engaged to ensure that your welfare is taken care of. If that approach is not successful, you may approach the Manager of the local office of the ESI Corporation and file a complaint.

When approaching your HR, please inform them that you need to avail medical leave from ESIC and for that, you require your employee ID, etc.

ESIC IP Number and Benefits

Yes, Mr. Vivek, I agree with Mr. Madhu. You can proceed as he guided you; there is nothing wrong in asking your Principal Employer HR regarding your ESIC IP Number to avail leave or consultation from the nearest ESIC dispensary. First, you should get the ten-digit IP Number to know your contribution period and the benefits that you can avail from the ESIC.
