All over the country, even big corporate companies are not properly following the correct methodology for temporary power installations. Whenever an accident occurs, the entire team immediately starts working to rectify the situation to some extent, but they are still not doing it properly. It is our responsibility to take care of the workers and always insist that they handle materials and electrical appliances safely.

Thank you.

The electrical panels should be IP55 or IP65 compliant. Dust and rainwater should not enter the panel. Cutouts should not be made once it is in service. However, the fact shared by Raghu is common in India. We should try to eliminate it at our workplace.

Thanks & Regards,
Sudhir

Thank you for sharing a valuable alert. Mr. Sudhir, could you please let me know if IEC codes are applicable in India? Also, do the Indian electricity rules describe the IP rating/level of protection for distribution boards?

Thank you.
