Hi all,

I am working as an HR Executive in an IT company with over 1 year of experience in the same company. I have a doubt about whether core HR is best or SAP HR is better for future career growth. I'm in a state of confusion... 😕 Please help me out with this.

Thanks,
Swarna

Dear Swarna,

Greetings!

As you are still in the initial stage of your career, try to gain more competency and experience in Core HR first. Later on, you will automatically find it very easy to understand and implement SAP HR. SAP HR is only an ERP tool.

Hi Raga, Ya! You can do a course in SAP HR and look out for new jobs. My sincere advice is to do certifications like PCMM & CMMI instead of doing a course in SAP HR. All the best! Regards, Narendra

SAP HR is only an ERP tool ... go for core HR ... if you don’t have a core HR background ... you are useless for HR ... you only know SAP HR Tool ...

Hi Narendar/Venkat,

Thanks for the suggestion. I heard that we need a minimum of 2 years of experience in SAP HR to get a good job in that field. Is it true? Or is 2 years of Core HR experience fine to get a job in SAP HR? Please suggest me in this regard and also advise me on how to progress in my career. Will companies consider my Core HR experience when I apply for SAP HR or not?

Thanks,

Growth in terms of money or knowledge? Your answer lies in these questions. Core HR can give you a variety of situations to deal with different human beings, which can help you perfect yourself.

I have good SAP implementation experience. I was earlier confused like you, but then I chose to be in Core HR. With SAP HR, you cannot become an HR Head.
