Hi Seniors, I have been working in the IT field for the past 4.3 years as a Software Engineer, and I have interviewed some freshers for my team. I want to transition to the technical recruitment side. Kindly let me know if this is possible with this experience. If so, how should I go about it?

I am also pursuing a PGDBA in HR from Symbiosis through distance learning. Will this be of any added advantage?

Considerations for Career Transition
I think you should list down the pros and cons, and after comparison, arrive at a decision. Switching careers requires leaving some skills behind and acquiring new ones, leading to a fresh start. You can approach an HR consultant and companies where your experience would add value to the new role. Yes, there is a learning curve.

While you can shift to recruiting, a lot depends on your reasons for doing so—mere interest or liking wouldn't take you far. I think your thread can draw more suggestions if you elaborate on the reason(s) why.
Prima facie, your being a software engineer will definitely help you evaluate job-seekers in the recruiting function much better than those with just HR qualifications and a non-technical background. But this shouldn't be the sole justification or reason for making the move.
All the best.

Transitioning to Technical Recruitment
Pursuing a PGDBA in HR shows that you've already made a decision. However, I didn't quite understand the need for your query. Mere interest and conducting interviews of freshers cannot justify your move. Recruitment, in itself, is a vast subject. Before switching to a new role, it is advisable to understand the different types of recruitment, how the process works, and the requirements and deadlines. Consider the constraints in terms of opportunities for only technical recruitment. What if you explore non-technical recruitment—will that interest you? Is becoming an HR generalist your final step as you are pursuing a PG course in it?
Moreover, are you targeting companies or consultancies? Will you be able to secure a higher package than what you are earning now? How far will mere interest and a degree take you?
Please do not misunderstand; I am not trying to demotivate you. You already have over 4 years of experience with a degree and are pursuing a PG, which is sufficient for you to get a job, but just getting a job!
It is well said, "Where there is a will, there is a way." Take guidance from your family too.
