Hi Seniors,

I have a doubt regarding PF details. Is EPF the same as EPS? Before 16/11/1995, there were 2 terms EPF and FPF. After that, FPF changed into EPS. Is this true? I am requesting you to please take some time to provide an answer to my question from your precious time.

Hi,

Yes, both are the same. You missed one more thing. There are EDLI charges of 0.5%. So calculations are as below:

Employer Contribution:
- Employer PF = 3.67%
- EPS (Employee Pension Scheme) or FPF (Family Provident Fund) = 8.33%
- Admin Charges for PF = 1.10%
- EDLI Charges = 0.5%
- Admin Charges for EDLI = 0.01%
- Total ER Contribution is 13.61%

Employee Contribution:
- PF = 12.00%

GRAND TOTAL [Employer's and Employee's Contribution] = 25.61%
