Dear all, I have completed my PGDM in HR and have six months of experience as an HR executive. During my previous role, I was responsible for recruitment, training, and development. However, I lack practical experience in payroll. Unfortunately, I left my job and am currently seeking opportunities in Bangalore. I am receiving calls for recruitment positions from consultancies, which is causing confusion. I am unsure whether working in a consultancy would be beneficial for my future career in HR.

Potential Benefits of Working in a Consultancy

Can anyone provide advice on the potential benefits of working in a consultancy in terms of future prospects in recruitment? Your prompt assistance would be greatly appreciated. Please help me out as soon as possible.

Thank you.

In my opinion, firstly, you should leave the job when you have another job in hand; otherwise, it might affect your career. As per your post, you have six months of experience in recruitment and training & development, and now you don't have any job. Six months of experience is not considered significant when starting your career.

Anyway, now that you want a generalist profile, don't choose any consultancy job again. Try to find a job that aligns with what you want to learn.

Hope you understand.

Regards,
Dev
