Hi there, I have been working as an HR recruiter for the last 3 years. Currently, I am serving as a Team Lead in Kerala, Cochin. I am interested in transitioning to a Generalist profile, but I am receiving calls for the same position from everywhere. What should I do? For the Generalist role, they are indicating that they may consider me as a fresher with a significantly lower CTC. I need assistance with this.
Thanks and Regards,

Hi Aishwarya, as you mentioned, you are planning to change your role from Recruiter to HR Generalist. Many organizations may treat you as a fresher. Don't worry about being seen as a fresher if you land a better job in a reputable organization.
Demonstrating Your Skills

Thank you for your reply. As you mentioned, I don't have any issue with being considered a fresher in a generalist profile because I don't have any experience in the same. However, the salary package that all the companies are offering is much less than what I am currently receiving. That is the main constraint I am facing.

Dear Ayswarya,
Please tell us why anyone should pay you more than any other fresher they hire when you, in your own words, have no idea about the field ("...Because I don't have any idea in the same")?
However, if you can reflect on your work experience and explain how it contributes or helps in a Generalist's Job, you should be able to convince them. For example, when I changed jobs from the industry to teaching, I convinced the college interview panel of how a bit of part-time teaching and industrial experience helped me become a better teacher than a fresher with Teacher Training qualifications.
Regards.
