Dear Friend,

Let us understand your exact need.

1. Whether your organization is an ISO 9001:2008 certified company?
2. If yes, the company should have been certified by some certifying body - which means:
3. You should have access to the Quality Manual (QM) & Quality System Procedure (QSP) - then read it as you have the right to do so.
4. Then go to the Resource Management and look into the scope - Human Resources, Infrastructure, Machinery, Equipment, and Work Environment.
5. Formats are designed as per the needs of the organization but with some generalizations already designed. Follow the procedure.
6. In the case of HR, competency mapping, skill matrix analysis, determination of Competency Requirements, Authority, Responsibility, Individual Competency Records, Training Needs Identification, Training Calendar, etc., have to be managed.
7. Buy for yourself a copy of the ISO 9001:2008 Standards.
Please let me know about the above and then about the ingredients for the format.

Dear Mr. Narendra,

Thank you so much for your valuable input. I would be grateful if you could guide me on how to present an action plan for my manager. He has appointed me as the team leader responsible for showing him the required processes, services, etc., in order to achieve ISO 9001:2008 certification. Additionally, if there are any templates or frameworks available that list them with the required timeframes, it would be greatly appreciated.

Any assistance you can provide will be much appreciated.

Dear Friend,

Greetings for the Day!

It would be a great idea to implement ISO 9001:2008. Once you initiate everything, it will come under management control. Hence, whatever happens, the process remains in a steady state position. ISO 9001:2008 is classified into four levels:

Level I - QSM - Quality System Manual
Level II - QSP - Quality System Procedure
Level III - Skill Matrix, Standard Operating Procedure, Technical standards
Level IV - Control of Records & Documents

This is clearly explained in the ISO 9001:2008 standard. If you need any assistance in implementing and documenting processes, feel free to contact at any time.

Dear Antony,

Thank you for your valuable input. Is there any document available that I can use as a standard and base to work with for the implementation from the beginning to forward? I want something to show my manager, detailed and comprehensive. Your kind support to help guide for documentation and implementation will be very much appreciated.

Kindly help!

Dear Friend,

Did you purchase the ISO 9001:2008 standards?

If Yes... Read carefully... then it's easy to work on that. For QSM, it is nothing but your standards according to your scope. Standard Clauses from 4 to 8 are mandatory. QSP is nothing but the way you maintain and document details with process flow diagrams.

Knowing your setup and the scope of your organization can help you more from my side. Instead of more details, you can email me.

The ISO 9001 standard provides a framework of globally recognized principles of quality management, including customer focus, leadership, involvement of people, process approach to management, continual improvement, factual approach to decision-making, and mutually beneficial supplier relationships. These are also known as the eight key principles of quality management.

Due to the significant changes, this standard will no longer be updated at the same time as ISO 9001, and its planned publication is the end of 2009. In the meantime, until the publication of this version, the current ISO 9004:2000 will remain alongside ISO 9001:2000 and the subsequent ISO 9001:2008 version until the 2009 version is published. When the 2009 version is published, the 2000 version will be withdrawn.

ISO 9001 is the international standard against which the Quality Management System of a business is evaluated, and is intended to demonstrate that a business can provide a consistent standard of quality in the goods and services it provides to its customers.

The standard is worded to allow it to be adaptable and non-prescriptive, and therefore it can be applied to all companies. Most importantly, it is a common sense and practical method for confirming best practice and improving procedures. The CQS approach to certification emphatically captures this purpose.
