I need a suggestion on this. In my organization (located in Rajasthan), we have some computer operators/data entry operators whom we pay a salary ranging from 6000-6500 in hand. The minimum wage, according to an earlier notification, was set at 5330, but now it's been revised to 6600 per month. So, now, please suggest what I should do in case of the revision of the Act. Do I have to increase the salaries of these employees?

Kindly suggest...

Regards, Harpreet

Dear Harpreet,

As per laws, the salary/wages of employees should not be less than the applicable minimum wages in the state/central, whichever is applicable. Could you please confirm if you are paying wages as per the central rates or state rates?
