Hi, I am Narayan Poudel from Nepal. I am working at an international business distributor as a management trainee. I joined this organization on 21st March 2012. Today, my HR manager asked for a report about whatever I had done during an 8-day period. I have no idea how to prepare an HR report. Could you please let me know the format of an HR report? If you have any samples, please upload them.

Please note that every company has different ways of handling your situation. I suggest asking your HR Manager for the format of the report that your company follows (which is different from asking what to write and how to prepare the report). This will give you, to a large extent, the information you must include in your report.

Keep a diary (paper or electronic) and record your activities each day. From that, you can compile a simple report each week or month as your manager requires. Don't try to complicate a very simple process. Make life easy for yourself.

As for your immediate report, you should not find it too difficult to remember what you have done over the last 8 days, e.g., processed wages for x employees, processed leave requests for a, b, c, and d. Completed report on xyz, etc. A simple report will suffice.

Don't be so serious about it. Since you have just completed 8 days in the organization, ask your HR to provide a format if available. If not, create a simple daily report outlining the departments you visited and what you learned, then submit it to HR.

Narayan, if I am not wrong, you attended one of the GMCS batches in 2016 in Delhi. The suggestions given above are good. In a period of 8 days, you don't have to bother much about the same. Take a format from HR (if any) or prepare the key areas of work you had done in the last 8 days.
