In another two weeks' time, the festival of lights, Diwali, is approaching. Does anyone have ideas or suggestions on what gifts are proposed for employees and clients, besides sweets and dry fruits?

We ask the direct boss to personalize the card for the employees and next year's planners, diaries, and other stationery. Additionally, a small Diwali hamper will be provided, which may include diyas or scented candles, Ganesha idols, and sweets based on the individual's position. You can consider these options.

You could consider issuing gift vouchers to your employees. These days, a number of retailers like Shoppers Stop offer such vouchers in varying denominations, and the employees can redeem them against purchases. It would make the employee and their family happy.

Hi,
Just thought I should share some ideas with you, as our company does not have a policy of giving gifts to anyone on Diwali. We have our employee cultural club that plays a role in this aspect. Due to our high employee numbers and budget constraints, last year, we gave away 2 handmade colorful "matti" (in Hindi) diyas. These items held great significance during the festival of lights, and we also sent a tray of sweets around the office. Following this, the traditional day was declared as usual.
One unique practice at my company is gifting our pantry boys from the hospitality section. These gifts are usually household items of reasonable quality and value. I thought it would be nice to share this with you.

Hmm...that's a good idea. But in our case, the numbers are not high at all, so we do give gifts to staff and customers.

If the numbers are high, it makes sense to have the traditional day, just like our college days. This is a good one.

Yes, you are right as they need to be looked after. Even we give the workers some household gifts as well. One thing we make sure of is that the gifts are the same for all, right from MD to workers.

For all the staff on the rolls of the company:
- They all must buy one branded shirt from Park Avenue/Raymonds amounting to Rs 1000 and present the bill to the company for reimbursement. Mind you, only one shirt.
- Imported Chocolates Ferro Rocher - Rs 500 per packet - to all the staff and the clients.

I would prefer giving employees the choice to buy something they need. Provide them with gift vouchers from Sodexo or online to enhance their experience. Moreover, this approach is hassle-free, avoiding logistics issues such as delayed delivery and damaged goods.
