How should an employee's salary be calculated?

On what basis should we calculate HRA and other allowances?

How do we deduct and add PF and ESI contributions?

How do we calculate Gross Salary and Annual Salary?

Sushmita is right. Whenever you ask any question, try to search for it before. I hope all your queries will already be solved beforehand by someone else. Try to find it in the search option, type "salary slip," and you will get your answer. If you fail to find it, then put your question forward.

I hope you get my point.

Thanks

Pointers to Salary Calculation Queries

- How Should an Employee's Salary Be Calculated?
Employee salary is a collection of salary components that include earnings as well as deductions. Earnings could be Basic, HRA, LTA, Medical Allowance, Performance Bonus, etc. Deductions could include EPF, Taxes, Insurance, etc.

- How to Measure CTC?
The sum of all the above components is CTC (Cost-to-Company).

- On What Basis Should We Calculate HRA and Other Allowances?
Usually, Basic is calculated as 40% or 50% of CTC, and HRA is calculated as 50% of Basic.

For other questions, it is better to utilize an online Payroll Management System. Working on manual Excel sheets is always prone to mistakes. Consider using FastCollab | Marketplace | All-In-One Platform. It also offers an Employee Self Service login for collecting:

1. IT Declaration & investment proofs
2. Bank Details
3. Creating any kind of salary structures
4. Generating payslips online
