NCP days stand for "Non-Contributing Period" days. It means the days for which PF contributions have not been paid. In other words, the AB days of an employee, for which they are not being paid and their PF contributions have not been calculated, are NCP days.

Does NCP days mean the number of days an employee is absent from the job? For example, if employee 'A' is absent for 4 days in the month of March, then in the NCP column, the number of days will be 4 for that month. If the employee is absent for a longer period, for instance, 45 days, then while preparing the ECR, the days of absence will be calculated for that particular month or for the entire period of absence.

Yes, it's correct. NCP days are the days for which an employee is absent for a particular month, and their PF is not calculated for that period of time. It's a Non-Contributory Period for the particular month.

Thanks, Vidhya. Now I am clear about it. Earlier, I included NCP days for other months as well because one of my employees has been absent since February until the present date. It was almost 45 days. Now I understand that the NCP days are only for that particular month. So, in this case, it will be 31 days (for March '12 paid in April '12).

Vikas, Weekly offs are entitle to employees so that they are considered as present and employees are paid for those offs as well. Therefore, only LOP days will be considered as NCP days...

Salary: $2839, NCP: 23 days. If the person left the service in between, then NCP would be reduced by the days which remain after leaving.

I just wanted to know, if an employee worked from 1st to 12th of January 2017, so they worked and earned wages only for 12 days (- 2 Sundays) as our salary days are either the 26th or 27th. What should be the NCP here? Also, before we used to mention the last working day of the employee, now where should we key in this information? Thanks in advance.

@Savitha, under EPF calculation, don't segregate the Sundays separately. Just mark the date of the 1st day of working and mark the last date of working. The balance in between, if any Sunday comes, then it's within the contributory period. Even if the person worked till Saturday, then his NCP would start from the next Monday. (Immediately following Sunday after the working day would be deemed within the contribution period).

for EPF purpose, count the 31/30/28 days i.e calendar days, for contribution, sunday may be paid or unpaid, but it can not be counted under NCP, within the continuity of attendance.

Thank you. I am completely clarified. Another query I have is regarding the new Unified Portal for PF. How do we link an employee's old UAN? I tried uploading ECR with a newly joined employee who has an old UAN, but an error popped up stating, "Entered UAN does not belong to your establishment." Where else can I log in to confirm his previous employment?

I have one question. I have worked in one company until 14/08/2017. On 19/02/2018, I rejoined the same company. What will be my NCP here? The company created a new member ID when I rejoined. I raised Form 13 for PF transfer, but it was rejected due to the company not updating the NCP. Please guide.

I have prepared ECR challans for our company from May 2018 until now. However, I have not yet shown the NCP days in the ECR. Recently, a member has passed away, and the PF office has requested clarification as the NCP days for that member are not displayed. What should I do?

While filing monthly PF Return in ECR, there exist a column where information relating to NCP has to be given. Many just ignore the column and randomly add ‘0' for all the employees.but this time one member died and before death he was 3 month leave so claim is rejected and reasons member was absent but ncp days not shown so pls clarify. what can i do?

My NCP days were entered incorrectly by my employer. Upon joining on 10.01.2019, I was paid for 16 days and had 15 NCP days. When exiting on 05.08.2019, I was paid for 4 days and had 27 NCP days. As a result, my Date of Joining (DOJ) and Date of Exit (DOE) on the PF claim form are incorrect. Can you please guide me on what steps I should take?

Hi, mam, this is Vijayalakshmi from Tamil Nadu. During this corona period, I lost my project, resulting in the loss of my job. Consequently, I am planning to apply for my PF (Form 19) and pension (Form 10C). I have received my Form 19 showing the overall contribution, but I have not received my pension contribution correctly. The main pension contribution in my passbook shows 34,000, but I have only received 11,000. When I inquired with the PF customer service, they explained that I have only completed 180 days of NCP, hence the reduced amount.
Please advise if I am entitled to receive the remaining 24k, as my company did not provide any salary during that period, leading to a lack of PF and pension contributions. I am no longer employed there, and my last working day was on 24/06/2020.
