Dear Seniors, Your valuable suggestions are needed once again.

In my company, they do not celebrate anything, whether it's an employee's birthday, any festivals, or any fortnightly meeting get-togethers. Since I have newly joined as an HR/Admin here, I want to write an email to my director suggesting birthday and festival celebrations, as well as office decorations on occasions like Christmas, Diwali, Dussehra, etc. I believe it can motivate and bring pleasure to our employees.

Approaching the Director for Celebrations

Please suggest how I should approach him in a gentle manner so that he considers the idea and we can initiate it. I do not wish for grand celebrations, but at least on birthdays, we can give them a bouquet with wishes, and for festivals, a small decoration with a greeting email.

I would appreciate your suggestions and a draft for the email. Awaiting your response.

When you are new in the system, it is very difficult to have your ideas considered. However, you should give it a try but not by writing; it should be in a one-to-one discussion.

Have your ideas, costs, and benefits listed, and prepare well for a fruitful discussion.

Thank you for your reply. Actually, a few employees have come to me with the opinion that we should celebrate festivals and birthdays of employees. Before me, there was no HR, so they mentioned that they were waiting for an HR. Now that I am here, I should discuss this with management. As I am new here, I am not well aware of the nature of the bosses. The boss is hardly available in the office and prefers emails. That's why I want to write an email to him.

Could you please help me draft something attractive that will make him understand how these activities can motivate our employees, etc.?
