Hi all, I am working as a compliance officer for one of the buying houses in India. While auditing the factories, I had a doubt regarding the percentage of trained employees in first aid and fire training. I also want to know whether this percentage is the same for all states or if it differs. Please reply to me.

I have no idea whether it is governed by state law or not. To my knowledge, it is based on the total size of the site/factory where it is divided into zones. Each zone must contain a minimum of 2 employees trained in firefighting and 2 in first aid. It is the responsibility of the HSE department to conduct a study and decide how many employees need to be trained.

I hope you have also checked the firefighting system installed and extinguishers placed at various points, ensuring they are not exceeding 10-15 feet between each point.

With profound regards,
