National Holidays and Additional Considerations
The national holidays are four: Independence Day, Republic Day, Gandhi Jayanthi, and May Day. Additionally, it is advisable to choose the remaining holidays based on the community, such as Ramzan/Bakrid, Christmas/Good Friday, Ugadi/Dashera, to balance the interests of the employees. It is also important to consider the circulars released by the Labour department regarding National Holidays/Festivals. Therefore, it is recommended to analyze the aforementioned factors and finalize the holiday schedule.
Minimum and Additional Holidays
The minimum number of holidays is four to ensure compliance with national holidays. Beyond this, the number of holidays depends on the company's affordability. In the case of organizations with unions, the holiday allocation is determined through negotiations and related agreements.
