Dear Senior HR Members,

I left my last company 3.5 years ago. They have not paid my 2.5 months' salary yet despite numerous requests (both verbally and via email). In fact, they have also not paid several other employees who left the organization. In their email response, they mentioned making provisions and informing me later.

Steps to Receive Outstanding Salary

What steps should I take to receive my outstanding salary? Could you please provide me with guidance?

Thank you,

Rakesh

You should report the same to the concerned Assistant Commissioner of Labour. It is mandatory for the employer to clear the wages to the employee within a stipulated time after relieving; if not, they shall be liable for punishment under the Payment of Wages Act. Why did you ignore it for so long? Please attach the hard copies of the communication received from the concerned employer and submit them to the ACL with a request letter so that they can take necessary action.

Kamesh is right. You must speak to your local authority/Assistant Commissioner of Labour and ask them to help you out. Provide them with complete details of your employment with them along with the documents such as Employment Letter, Salary Slip... surely you will get the solution soon.
