Such an input can help modulation of behavior for the good of an individual. One should revisit the set of slides till the advice is imbibed well in the mind.
The resistance to change is inherent because we fail to acknowledge our mistake. Others pointing our mistakes is generally unacceptable.A nice way of bringing it home, as suggested here- mainly how to say- can help.
Great input........

Thank you Karty for your feedback. Yes of course we can be frank but not in all situation and also over frankness will leads to serious consequences. There is a time and place to reveal what to share what not. I hope this thread will get more serious discussions ahead..
Have a nice day!

Communication is a powerful tool. But we should use this tool in a proper manner.
Be polite and be generous. but it doesn't mean that become a emotional fool.
Always follow tit for tat principle at present time.
Be frank but not over frank, be smart not over smart, be confident but not over-confident.

If you know your personality type either based on MBTI or FIRO B, then your argument will not be like this.
generally, an extrovert will be good in communication and an introvert poor in communication.
the extrovert will be joyful, cuts jokes, takes words lightly whereas an introvert speaks few words and sharp.
the communication style goes like this with personality type

I liked your point Amirtha.

Tit for tat may make us feel relieved after expressing strong feelings, but does not help resolve the matter & even may take it to the next step: animosity. We have to understand that by winning a point (immediate success) one may lose the Ultimate (Friendship). Hence it is necessary to make an informed and enlightened decision (of keeping friendship intact or being frank and blunt).

We also have to start with a belief that 'A Solution to the Problem is Available'. In fact a Problem Remains a Problem because of Absence of a Solution'. This is where 'Answers to the Questions What to Say? When to Say? & How to Say?' assume importance. Knowing all this may not always help as Impulsive immediate (many a times reckless) Action can Defeat Logic and land us with a Poor Result.

I quote a Sanskrit saying, an advice by our forefathers: It says, Satyam Brooyat (Talk Truth), Priyam Brooyat (Talk which is pleasing to the listener) na Brooyat Satyam Apriyam! (but Do Not Talk the Truth if it is Not Priyam i.e. Likeable)

Indeed, pointing out mistake invariably leads to defending own behavior by the other person, which means beginning of an Argument.

Argument, they say, leads to freezing of Opinions and Stopping of Discussion.

Your communique does not say that do not be frank, but insists, do not be blunt. So there is no objection to expressing opinion what is stressed is 'Give Importance to How You Say It'.

That is why I feel that till it is imbibed in mind we should revisit the ppt/the thought process to remind us of the need for patience.

May be the usage of proper words and the tone while making the point, would also matter. I have personally liked the input very much

Yes of course Tit for tat is not a solution for all the problems. Moreover if we do like this some people take it in casual way. Most of the people are not they take it in wrong sense which can grown enmity between friends. Our talking should not Hurt others. By the same way we should not make people to bad mouth us
Nice sanskrit saying...Thanks for sharing :)
