can an employer deduct short leaves actually availed/utilized by me all of sudden.My point is that my employer has deducted my short hours leaves against my Earned Leaves.

Can you please mention the details—how many such leaves were deducted and the duration? What does the Rule Book of your company say about this aspect? Also, in which sector/domain do you work?

If CLs are not available, your ELs will be adjusted. Ho can you term it as short leave when you did not report at the authorised working hours? Pon
