I work for a company that has a couple of ODCs. What is the process of leave approval for ODCs? Every month, I receive timesheets from all employees working in ODCs. If an employee takes leave and it is reflected in the timesheet, is it necessary to seek separate leave approval from HR/PM/TL again?
What is the industry practice regarding this type of ODC system? Please let me know ASAP.

The employee has to first fill the leave application either in soft or hard copy format, obtain approval from his Team Lead (TL) and Project Manager (PM), and then submit it to HR for final approval. Although leaves are reflected in their timesheet, these leaves are not approved as the employee has not obtained any sanction from the relevant authorities.

Leave Approval Process:
1. Application for leave will be filed by the employee.
2. The leave application will be sent to the employee's reporting manager.
3. Reporting manager may or may not approve the leave, depending upon the work situation. If approved, the application must be sent to the HR department.
4. HR will verify the eligible leave days. If leave balance is unavailable, the employee will be advised accordingly.
5. The leave application will be forwarded to the General Manager for approval.
6. The approval will then be intimated to the employee.
