Dear Rekha,
I am sorry to ask questions rather than respond to your query. How long have you been a Professor and Head? How many MBA students' projects have you supervised? Do you have any experience in the HR field?
Kindly take a look at the following links which provide good advice on choosing a dissertation topic:

Thank you, Rekha, for the information. Please follow the advice given in my previous post. Choosing a Ph.D. topic is slightly different from MBA students choosing one for their project. The main difference is that the topic should be based on the gap in the knowledge bank. This can only be determined by conducting a literature survey. I suggest trying Emerald (http://www.emeraldinsight.com); I believe you can register there to access their Research Database.

Hi,
I'm looking after training and placement at a B-school that offers an MBA and PGDM program. Prior to this, I had 17 years of work experience in HR. I have now decided to pursue a Ph.D. in HR. Please suggest a few topics to focus on.
Thanks.
