Dear Friends, Our factory has changed its name. Do we need to change its name on the factory license as well? If yes, what is the procedure and which forms are required to be submitted? Will we have to apply for a new license, or will they amend our existing one? Please suggest.

Actually, the name of our company has been changed from XXX Company India Pvt. Ltd. to XXX India Pvt. Ltd. Also, the occupier has changed; however, there is no change in the manpower and horsepower being used. Please suggest.

You cannot change the name of your company at your own wish. The company name is changed through the orders of the court, and the registrar of companies is also one of the parties in that order.
You can write a letter to the Chief Inspector of Factories along with the court order for the change of name, a copy of the original license for the amendment, a challan of the amendment fee duly deposited in the State Bank of India, along with the concerned form where you are required to mention the name of the occupier and manager.
