I have given a 2-month notice period to my employer. I have taken 10 days off when the notice period ends. For example, my relieving date is May 11, 2011. I have taken leave from May 01, 2011, to May 11, 2011.
I just want to know if there are any issues regarding obtaining a relieving letter from the employer. If there are issues, can I pay the notice cost for the 10 days and get relieved?
Thanks,

It depends upon the relationship the employee has with the employer. In genuine cases there seems to be no problem in granting paid leave during the notice period. Regards, Madhu.T.K

If you took leave during the notice period, then your notice period will be extended by the number of days you have taken leave. The notice period will not include any leave that you take personally.

Did you get proper approval for your leave from your immediate supervisor or boss? If he or she has approved your leave and allowed you to take it, there is no need to worry about anything. I also agree with Madhu.

Hi Anil, the total number of leaves taken during the notice period is 10. The issue is that the leaves were pre-intimated and were taken due to some personal emergencies. Even if there is an issue, the relieving date would be extended by 10 more days, after which they must provide me with the relieving letter. Am I right?

Definitely, they have to provide you with a relieving letter. So, are you still working with them during this extended 10-day period? One more thing I want to know from you is whether you have got another opportunity or have any other options in your hand.
