Dear all,
I have to develop a training program for teachers focusing on motivation, attitude, and accountability towards students, as well as treating students with dignity. Can you please suggest some books, materials, video clips, and ideas to help design the entire program? It's urgent, so please share your ideas.
Has anybody implemented a similar program before?
Thanks,
Rashi

Hi Rashi,
There is a lot available out there - suggest we do some research on the internet. Also, a lot of bookstores these days have amazing stuff for the kids - lots of DVDs and books available. If you're still lost, then let me know, and I could try my best to send you some material.

Dear Rashi,
You have not given enough details; the word "Teacher" is very general. What age group of students do they teach? If you search the web, you will find some good material at [treating school students with dignity ppt - Google Search](http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=treating+school+students+wi th+dignity+ppt&aq=f&aqi=&a ql=&oq=).
Have a nice day.

Hi Rashi,
You have given a complex and challenging requirement. I have been associated with schools for a long time, and I would like to give you some suggestions.
Fundamental Issues: Things like attitude, accountability, and motivation depend on the environment created by the management and the principal. I have seen schools where the principal actually chokes the freedom of the teachers, while in some places, the heads create a warm, beautiful environment for the teachers and students to flourish and grow. These are ongoing issues created by the atmosphere in the school. The way the principal treats the teachers is exactly the way teachers will treat students.
Coming to Training Material: I would like to suggest some very good books I have come across:
1. Positive Discipline by Jane Nelsen
2. Living, Loving, Learning by Leo Buscaglia
3. Discovery of a Child by Maria Montessori
4. Teachers Inspirational Handbook by Dr. Elaine Charles
The last book is by Pauline Publications. They have a lot of wonderful and inspirational books for teachers. You can get a lot of training material and ideas from their books.
You will need to design your classes for the teachers based on the need, problems, and time schedule. If you are anywhere in the NCR, I can help you out. Do let me know in case of any other issues.
Best wishes
