Dear Members,

I am working as an HR Executive in an IT firm. We have a yearly appraisal for performance, which we generally conduct in March. However, I have some ambiguity regarding what to do if a person has joined in the month of May. How should I handle his appraisal? Should he have to wait until next year's appraisal, or should we conduct the appraisal cycle twice a year?

I am totally confused and need your valuable guidance.

Regards,
Archana Kamble

It all depends on the company's policy. One thing that is certain is that you have to conduct appraisals once a year. If there are any incentive criteria, then there should be a marking system quarterly.
