This will help you to make your fundamentals clear, and you can develop your system inside the company. The consultant who will come from outside will take all the inputs from you, speak big words, phrases, etc., and in return will show you the data in competency form. He may take 2-3 months and will charge you a fortune. Instead, at a fraction of the cost, you can get yourself trained and implement the competency mapping program as a project itself.
