Hi, I'm Suvidha, working as an accountant. My salary is Rs. 6000/- per month. My ESIC has been deducted since May 2008. In December 2009, my father was hospitalized, incurring a cost of Rs. 57700 due to an emergency. In February 2010, I filed for reimbursement at the ESIC hospital. They accepted the claim, but I am unsure if I will receive the full amount. If not, could you please clarify what amount I will receive? My family depends on me as my father retired 2 years ago. Also, kindly provide me with the list of hospitals registered with ESIC.

Since you are in the benefit period, the expenses incurred by means of hospitalization of your dependent father will have to be reimbursed to you by the Corporation subject to some deductions as per their policy. I hope that your father was referred to the said hospital by the ESI hospital only, and if not, you will not get the amount reimbursed. I understand that it usually takes a lot of time to get it sanctioned. Please check with the local office of the ESIC to know the status of your application for reimbursement.
