Hi, I am doing a project on employee engagement. For this purpose, I have decided to use Gallup's questionnaire. I have only the questions and have no idea as to what scales to use for the questions. I require help on how I am supposed to go about analyzing the questionnaire. Please help.

Dear Mitra,

Please search the web for Gallup's 12 questions, and you will find the scales that they have used. For example, see Employee Engagement Survey: The Gallup Q12.

Have a nice day.

Dear Simhan,

Thank you for your post. Would you be able to help me out with more specific details since I already have the questionnaire? What I require to know is whether a yes or no answer is sufficient for each question or if a broader scale is needed. If I were to collect samples from about 40 employees, how do I analyze the samples? I would be grateful if you could assist me with specific studies or sites. I would also appreciate it if you could recommend a good book on 'Employee Engagement'.

Thanks in Advance.

Dear Mitra,

Yes or No answers for surveys are not enough. At the MBA level, you need to exhibit that you can collect comprehensive data and apply statistical tests. Have you undergone any course on Research Methods or Methodology? Have you studied all the material available at the site that I gave a link to? Please also search CiteHr for various posts on Research Methodology. Sorry, I do not give answers on a plate but raise a lot of questions to make students think for themselves.

Also, see http://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&a...1afc4b4ded219e found at http://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&a...1afc4b4ded219e.

Have a nice day.

It's not correct to use Gallup questions as they have designed these questions after a lot of surveys/studies spread over a long time and thus have a copyright on these. You can always devise your own questions depending on your needs and areas you intend focusing. Regards, Vijay

Thank you, Vijay, for your comments.

Gallup survey questions can be used with their permission. They will usually agree to students using the questions. No doubt the wordings can be changed, and due credit given to the source.
