Dear Safety Committee,
The committee consists of:
- An equal number of management and union/workmen representatives
- The safety officer, who is included as a management representative
- Special invitees such as the fire safety representative, personnel officer, or any other department representative
Safety Committee meetings shall be held once every month. The minutes of the previous meeting shall be reviewed, and compliance noted.

Safety Committee:
{As required under Section 41-G of the Indian Factories Act}
(a) There will be an equal number of representatives of workers and management.
(b) To promote cooperation between the workers and the management in maintaining proper safety and health at work and to review periodically the measures taken in that regard.
(c) The tenure of the committee shall be two years.
(d) The safety committee will meet once every quarter.
(e) The minutes of the meeting will be recorded and produced before the inspector on demand.
The safety committee shall have the right to be adequately and suitably informed of:
(a) Potential safety and health hazards to which the workers may be exposed in the workplace.
(b) Data on accidents as well as data resulting from surveillance of the working environment and the health of workers exposed to hazardous substances as far as the factory is concerned, provided that the committee undertakes to use the data on a confidential basis solely to provide guidance and advice on measures to improve the working environment, health, and safety of the worker.
Functions of Safety Committee:
(a) Dealing with all matters concerning health, safety, and the environment to arrive at practicable solutions to encountered problems.
(b) Creating safety awareness among all workers.
(c) Undertaking educational, training, and promotional activities.
(d) Discussing reports on safety, environment, and occupational health surveys, safety audits, risk assessment, emergency and disaster management plans, and the implementation of recommendations made in the reports.
(e) Conducting health and safety surveys and identifying the causes of accidents.
(f) Investigating any complaint regarding the likelihood of imminent danger to the safety and health of the workers, suggesting corrective measures, and reviewing the implementation of the recommendations.
(g) Assisting and cooperating with the management in achieving the aims and objectives outlined in the Health and Safety Policy of the occupier.
