I have been a recruiter for 5 years now. Being a recruiter is a great feeling. I wanted to capture in this thread the challenges faced by various recruiters in hiring the right talent for the right job.
I will start with mine:
1. Though our country has plenty of talent, skilled resources are still scarce. Filtering two candidates for a job from a candidate database of 1000 is a great challenge.
2. You finalize a candidate for an interview, schedule an interview, and many times candidates do not show up for the interviews. They call you and give all possible reasons.
I leave the rest to be added by my co-members of CiteHR. I know you carry more experience and knowledge than I do.
Thanks,

Challenges in Candidate Selection and Retention
Candidates often turn up for interviews but reject the offers because salary negotiations were not made. Additionally, candidates may accept an offer but, due to a long notice period, back out and join another company.
This is a universal challenge for recruiters.

Here are a few points:
- First of all, it is difficult to match the job description with the bunch of resumes.
- Recruiters face problems in finding the right candidate due to various organizational differences, cultural differences, and attitudes.
- The main challenge for the recruiter is that he/she should be able to relate the job description to the resumes of the candidates. This is time-consuming and complex.
- If you are sourcing from the internet, you will get thousands of resumes for a single position. To reduce the wastage of your time, you can use various search strings to find specific resumes.
Please find the attachment on Internet Sourcing. Hope it is of some use.
