I have joined my first company (A) with 1 year of fake experience. After working for around 4 years in company 'A', I resigned and joined company 'B'. I did not disclose my fake experience to company 'B' and joined with only 4 years of real experience. After working for about 2 years in company 'B', I am now moving to company 'C'. I am presenting only my real experience of around 6 years (4 years in company 'A' and 2 years in company 'B').
My query is, during the background check of company 'C', is there a possibility that they will discover my fake work experience from company 'A'? Do background checks only focus on duration, salary, and designation in previous companies, or do they inquire about the experience I claimed when joining companies 'A' and 'B'?
Despite removing the fake experience from my resume a while ago and not planning to mention it in the future, could I encounter issues due to my past fake experience? I would appreciate a prompt response to my query.

It's nice that now you are moving ahead without fake experience. As the HR professional, I don't think it's going to create any obstacles in your career ahead. Normally, we only do reference checks on your past company. It's only your certification and education that go through the checking, along with your designation and behavior in the last organization. It's good that you were not caught, as they say, "Chor Wohi Jiski Chori Pakdi Jaye" ;) so hereafter, no one can blame you.

Nowadays, many candidates opt for fake experience, and it's very easy to get experience certificates from small firms or companies. Everyone knows it's not good or legal, so please don't try to start your career through bluff.
Hence, please don't attempt this, as in case you are caught, you won't be getting jobs in any organization.

You are right, but candidates without showing their experience are not able to get a good job. Every organization hires experienced employees; they don't hire freshers. So, people have to show fake experience.

Post: I have seen all these comments, yet I feel fake candidates should be blacklisted so that other candidates can get a chance. Here, I will give you one simple example. One candidate's name is Smita Lenka, DOB: 16/05/1983, PAN No: AEJPL6937L, passed out in the year 2008, only worked for 8 months at Yana Software from May 2013 to January 2014. They removed this candidate as they merged with another company, yet this candidate is still showing all experience from 2008 to date. Now, they have been selected by some other company with a good salary. But my question is, how are you guys selecting? At the least, during the joining process, you should ask for all previous Form 16s, and if not that, at least bank statements. After that, do the verification for the same. I request all of you that such types of candidates should be blacklisted; otherwise, it affects the new generation. They might stop studying and depend on fake certificates or rely on these kinds of fake persons, which will lead them to become fake themselves. Thanks to all.
