Dear user,
Finding good passive candidates has always been a tough task for any recruiter. Mentioned below are a few ways which you might find useful. Although the outcome cannot always be completely satisfactory, still, to get good candidates, all sources need to be explored.
a) Job Postings - Quite a few times I have seen that job postings encourage a lot of candidates to apply directly even though they didn't have their CVs on portals. Many of them keep checking the job postings. It's a question of how enticing the job posting looks to them.
b) There is a site called LinkedIn.com (
Relationships Matter | LinkedIn) - not sure if you already know about it. It is based on the principle of doing a lot of things through networking between professionals, including hiring prospective candidates. The audience out here comprises people from across the world, niche profiles, and very senior profiles from across the globe.
c) A few months back, a person approached me from a company called Careerbuilders.com. He says it's a US-based company predominantly in the field of recruiting business. They have a portal of their own. What he also shared with me is that they have developed a particular model specially targeting senior and passive candidates who do not put their CVs on portals or make it public. They have tie-ups with different websites like MSN/Yahoo, and it consists of a job section where people can go, find jobs of their fitment, and apply. The reply directly comes to the company/recruiter. For more details, you can check their website.
d) Networking Sites - Sites like Twitter, Facebook, and Orkut need no introduction. They can be/are being used as another source to get candidates. The response is not great, and efforts are high to find the right person, but still worth trying.
e) Headhunting - An evergreen source called headhunting. Put the skill set you are looking for in Google and try to search for companies having them, and then do the headhunting.
I hope these suggestions are helpful in your candidate search efforts. Let me know if you need further assistance or information.
Best regards
