Why Is Management Adding More CCTV Cameras Before Union Talks? Seeking Insights

Respected sirs, We have already installed CCTV cameras on the floor about 8 years ago. Now, the management is installing more cameras as collective bargaining is set to begin soon. Union members are disturbed and are asking for an explanation about the increased cameras. For my development, I want to know the real necessity of CCTV cameras on the shop floor. Kindly reply.

Just one more doubt: can action be taken against an employee who is not near the machine, or whatever it may be, by showing the CCTV footage? In that case, what should be done for very senior employees who are set to retire in 2 to 3 years from now, as they may not be as efficient due to their age.
