Hi, I want to pursue a PhD in Management. I am looking for universities that offer direct admission to their PhD programs without requiring exams like NET, GATE, etc. I am specifically interested in part-time PhD programs.

I do not know the context of your query. However, let me surmise and ask whether you have some arrangement already, and is the acquisition of a Ph.D. just a formality?

Parallel to UGC-NET: RET Conducted by Each State

Though RET has less standing compared to UGC-NET, it holds significance as it is possible to gain admission to central universities. Following is the degree of importance of a Ph.D. in descending order:

a) JRF + Ph.D. from a central university
b) UGC-NET + Ph.D. from a central university
c) RET + Ph.D. from a central university
d) UGC-NET + Ph.D. from a deemed university
e) RET + Ph.D. from a deemed university
f) UGC-NET + Ph.D. from a private university
g) RET + Ph.D. from a private university
h) Ph.D. from a private university

Whatever field you choose, if you don't have a job arrangement, you will face tough competition from the Ph.D.s in categories (a) and (b) above. I say this because recently a vacancy for the post of Assistant Professor at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) attracted 70 applications, of which about 25 were from categories (a) and (b)!
