Greetings of the day. I have joined a new company and have spent nearly one year here. Including my manager, our entire HR team of five members is new to the organization. Management is looking for new policy implementations from the HR side.

Derivation of HR Policies

However, HR policies are derived from the top leadership's vision and the organization's culture. By imitating the policies of others, the organization and people development cannot take place.

I wish you had mentioned the nature of your industry, your company's finished product, the number of employees working, and above all the policies that you have already. It would have helped us propose something new.

Legal Compliance and HR Policies

Your company must have been registered either under the Factories Act or the Shops and Establishment Act. Your foremost requirement is to check whether you follow the provisions of either act as applicable. Additionally, you need to follow provisions of the acts related to provident fund, gratuity, ESI, workers' compensation, etc., as applicable.

HR Management Policies

From the HR Management standpoint, you need to have policies on employee recruitment, employee promotion, performance appraisal, employee welfare, dress code, etc.
