Friend Stuck in Project Limbo: How Can He Defend Against Unfair Blame?

One of my friends asked for a release from a project in January this year. He thought that they had released him from the project, and he is on the bench. Usually, before that, with the same company, while he is in between projects, they have reached him and assigned a project, so he is waiting for them to reach out again, and he is searching for opportunities outside the organization. Since the market is a bit sideways, he is not getting any other opportunity.

In July, they reached out to him, saying he is still mapped with the previous project code, which is why no one is reaching him for project allocation. Now they are putting the blame on my friend, stating he has intentionally done this, and it is a code of conduct violation and all. Now what are his options, and how can he fight himself out of it? Please advise your friend to become a member of this forum and explain to us what happened in chronological order. Since you are a third party, we would like to have a first-hand account of the series of events. Ask your friend to clarify whether he is working for an Indian or a Canadian company.

You have divided your post into two paragraphs. The first sentence of both paragraphs is unreasonably long and complex. The length and complexity of the sentences are confusing to us. Therefore, advise your friend to write short sentences when writing.

Additionally, your friend needs to provide us with information about the nature of the industry, his designation, the number of subordinates who work under him, when he joined the company, and most importantly, the role of his reporting authority when these incidents were happening. We need this information because we, the members of this forum, are outsiders and are unfamiliar with the internal dynamics of your friend's company.
