Leave Without Pay (LWP)
Basically, a leave without pay situation arises when there is no balance in the employee's leave account, or when an employee wants to take a long break for medical or genuine reasons, and management is willing to allow the employee to proceed on leave but doesn't want to pay a salary.
In general, the maximum period allowed can be in the range of 3 to 6 months.
