Interview Reimbursement: How Do Different Companies Handle Candidate Payments?

Shilpa S
Hi folks,

Can someone help me with interviewed reimbursement policies in different companies? Do you pay the candidates who come for interviews based on common bands or common designations? What is the amount paid?

Hi Shilpa,

The interview reimbursement is usually done based on the designations. If it is a high position, it depends on the mode of travel of the candidate, which is agreeable to the company/organization. I have provided the information based on my knowledge from my previous company. I hope this clarifies.

Julie, I do agree with you. It's done based on designations, but in a big company like the one I am working for, we have various positions coming up. Chances are that designations are not even decided at the time of the interview. I am clear on managers and above category and looking at reimbursements for entry, junior, and middle-level positions.

This is the right criteria as far as the company is concerned for the interview. It is very important for the job of executive functions, which represent the dignity of job demands, and the interviewee becomes the company representative. Therefore, AC class 2 or 3 traveling expenses are generally reimbursed if the person is not traveling by air, which usually happens in the final rounds. Finding a job for junior and middle positions is also a career advancement move.

We pay as per the following:
- Senior Manager & above to General Manager: Taxi fare & flight charges - Economy class.
- Below the above grade: Taxi, 1st Class Fare.

Additionally, if they have incurred expenses on food, it is reimbursed if bills are available.
