Struggling to Get My Relieving Documents: How Can I Protect My Career Amid Health Challenges?

Xxxxxx
Dear All,

I worked as a deputy manager in a small finance company. For more than six months, I was not given a proper seating branch; I was on deputation. I was undergoing fertility treatment, so I was unable to travel to multiple locations. Considering my health, I decided to resign and look for remote work. I had requested an earlier relieving, asking to waive my 3-month notice period to one month and had sent an email to HR. Initially, HR did not respond to my waiver request. After a follow-up, she responded, stating that there was no possibility of waiving the notice period. Following that, I shared all my medical documents with everyone as I considered them personal. She then rudely mentioned that she would grant me leave for my treatment for 2 months during which I should not seek employment elsewhere. Finally, after numerous emails, she agreed to relieve me after one month.

A colleague offered me the option to be relieved immediately without serving a notice period or any recovery, but now they have sent a recovery notice deducting my salary along with other deductions, including an additional amount. However, I am unable to make the payment at this time. I require my relieving documents to safeguard my career. Can you suggest what steps I can take?

Thank you.

Hi, Whatever notice period was agreed upon, you are supposed to follow it. If you fail to serve the proper notice period, the employer has the right to recover the notice period salary from your full and final settlement.
