Dear HR/Other Expert,
In my previous company, I received an increment of 5000 rupees, and they had me sign a bond. If I were to leave the company before 1 year, they would deduct the increment amount from my salary. After 10 months and 15 days, I secured a job at another company. I asked my HR head, "Sir, may I join the other company before completing 1 year?" Given the good opportunity and our good terms, they responded, "Okay, you may go, and we will assess whether to deduct your increment amount." I was pleased with their response.
However, upon joining the new company, I learned that my previous company had held my salary and deducted the entire increment amount. This situation has led me to a question: Can I take legal action against my former company?
