Experiencing Delays with PF Advance Claim? Seeking Advice on Next Steps

priyaslakshmi1905@gmail.com
Dear team, please let me know if you are aware of the PF advance claim delay. I have applied for the PF advance, and the claim has been pending for around 12 days now. Those who applied with me have already received their claims. I had a conversation with the Umang team, and they advised me to contact EPFO. However, I have tried reaching out to EPFO with no response. I attempted to submit a grievance, but the system displayed the claim number as invalid. I then included it in the grievance submission.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi, Earlier, there were some restrictions that partial withdrawal was allowed only after completing 5 years of service. But during the COVID period, the same rules have been relaxed, and members are now allowed to withdraw in advance without any service period restrictions.

Just 12 days ago, you applied for a PF advance, so you need to wait. Usually, they take some time to process. Based on my past experience, I've observed that PF advances for lesser amounts, say Rs. 50,000 or less, are processed quickly. However, if the advance amount is more than one lakh, it takes longer. So, just check the values others have applied for along with your advance value.

Also, it is not guaranteed that the PF authorities will approve the exact amount you requested; it may be less than what you applied for.

Furthermore, partial withdrawal before completing 5 years of service is subject to tax.

The amount is actually below $50k. Will it get declined for any reason? How will I be able to track the reason for the delay?

Hi, there is no provision for tracking the reason for delay.

Amounts less than 50k

For amounts less than 50k, there should not be any issues, hopefully. However, it all depends on your service period, employee share accumulated amount, balance amount as of the current date, and the reason for which you had claimed partial withdrawal.

If your claim is declined

If your claim is declined, you can refer to the same through the UAN portal login itself.

Hi Freelaw, she herself is from the HR Department only!

Also, for your information, the HR Department is in no way connected with this, as PF advances are processed by individuals through UAN portals, and physical Form 31 is no longer in vogue!
