Dual Employment Dilemma: How Can I Move Forward Without Hurting My Career?

Samridhi_Sahal
I have dual employment in my profile due to not getting properly relieved. I have to get terminated from my new company as well. I am not blacklisted because they understood it was not done intentionally, but they didn't have a solution to this. Now, what about my career? Will I get a new job? Which experience should I mention in my resume?

Hi, Wherever possible, try to get properly relieved from employment. Also, you should join another company only after being officially relieved by your past employer. What was the period of employment with both companies? Whether to mention this in the resume or not depends on the total service period, whether PF is deducted, etc.

I worked at my first company for 1 year and 6 months, and I have been with the new company for 1 and a half months. I didn't receive the salary for the last month from my previous company, and they have not officially released me yet.

Hi, In that case, the PF UAN number should be there. So, it's better not to hide past employments. Try to contact the HR of the first company and request a proper relieving process politely. See if you can make a payment in lieu of the shortfall in the notice period if the employer accepts it.

I want to ask, should I get a new job? Are there companies that accept this situation? My new employer has tried reaching out to the previous company's HR, but they are not replying. So, there's no solution to it, but I want to ask about future employment. What should be done to find a new job?

Hi, I would suggest that you disclose the fact honestly and try rather than hiding it.
