Dear Suresh Sakthivel,
The goals for the financial year or the KRAs are set considering the organization's requirements. The goals are based on the requirements of customer satisfaction, business expansion, learning, and development, etc. The top leadership sets the goals for the departments, and these are further divided among the staff working in the department.
However, we, the members of this forum, are outsiders. We do not know anything about your organization, top leadership, the business expansion goals, and so on. Therefore, it would be difficult for us to suggest anything. Please approach your HOD and understand what should be your goals for H1 of FY 2023-24. Earlier, I have given information about the concept of SMART while designing the goals. Note that working professionals do set personal goals. They do set, however, these are about learning new skills within a defined limit or completing certain academic or certification courses. Yes, I have seen top leadership asking the juniors to set goals for themselves. However, it is a wrong practice. The KRAs must be set by HOD or the top leadership. They cannot delegate this activity.
Thanks,
Dinesh Divekar
