Dear All, How many leaves can we provide to employees under the Shops and Establishment Act? What types of leaves can we offer?

The Shops and Establishment Act is a state Act, and hence, you are required to refer to your applicable S&E Act to find details on various types of leaves.

Hello, You have to follow the applicable state act (because it may slightly differ from state to state). You can provide:

- Earned Leave (EL)
- Casual Leave (CL)
- Sick Leave (SL)
- Compensatory Off (Comp-off)
- Maternity Leave (ML) (As per the Maternity Benefit Act)

You can also implement a policy on:
- First & Third and Second & Fourth Saturdays off (For Staff level).

Can we get a complete leave entitlement as per the Shops and Establishment Act - casual leave, sick leave, and PL/AL for an employee who joined on 1st April 2023? His probation period is 6 months, and no leave has been entitled to him during this period.
