Spouse Transfer problem - Are there any Acts or GO's which can be used to work near spouse option?

I am a govt employee in Telangana state government. My wife is a contract employee under govt. The problem is we are not working in the same dist. We have 200 km between me and her. Are there any Acts or GO's which can be used to work near spouse option?

The benefits of the contract employment are far more limited. Therefore, I doubt whether your wife can apply for a posting to a place where you are working. However, if you are a regular employee of the government, then you may put forth application for the transfer to a place that is near to your spouse's working place.

Since reasons for asking the transfer are personal, for submitting such application, there may not be a service rule defined. However, nothing wrong in putting up application. Give a try.

There is no such law available but you can try at your level and get transfer nearer to work place of your wife.

Joint posting of spouses is provided in the transfer policy/guidelines of the respective state governments. Pl check up the transfer policy of Telegana Govt.

Hope you both are in Telangana. You are a permanent Govt employee. Your wife is a contract employee of Telangana Govt. Both are presently working stationed between 200 km apart.
The very good option is that by finding out in your district whether any employees sought transfer to a place near to your wife's place of work. If there is similar one seeking transfer from the contract employee status then a mutual consent exchange could be possible. But here you have to see their Grade and Position before stepping into any further steps. Employee transfer is common word, but a manger seeking a transfer from one place and a Clerk seeking a transfer from other to your place will not be called exchange. So beware of it and seek a personal approach to consider such a transfer. It is always better who's job is transferable should move near to who's job is not transferable. That is a happy solution. Think of happy family and not ego conflict thoo thoo mein mein. Better select a place centre to both of you and get a new life at a very place.
