Dear Pooja Khare, you are from a manufacturing company. Therefore, your company's primary need is to manage the following costs:
a) Inventory Carrying Cost of Raw Materials
b) Work in Progress (WIP) Inventory Costs
c) Inventory Carrying Cost of Finished Goods
d) Maintenance costs
e) Ordering cost
f) Set-up cost
In addition to the above, the measurement of the following costs is important:
g) Cost of Quality (COQ)
h) Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)
i) Total Supply Chain Cost
I recommend you organize training to minimize the above costs. Training efforts should focus on reducing costs or improving productivity ratios. Otherwise, it is just a waste of the organization's resources. The productivity ratios are:
j) Labour productivity
k) Machine productivity
l) Single-factor productivity
m) Multiple-factor productivity
What I have recommended is a departure from the traditional view of HR professionals towards training and development. However, if you do not focus on cost reduction or productivity improvement, you will not be able to measure the training effectiveness. Therefore, whatever training program you arrange, decide when you will measure its effectiveness and on what parameters.
Earlier, I have given my exhaustive reply on employee training. You may [click here](https://www.citehr.com/523786-training-development-soft-skill-ant-bring-culture.html#post2222367) to refer to it.
Is your company an ISO 9000 company? If yes, then organize training programs to implement the principles of quality management outlined in the ISO manual. Implementing all the provisions of ISO is not an easy task. It requires a lot of honesty and sincerity. For further clarification, feel free to contact me.
